Cala Vadella

Location

Cala Vadella, on the south west coast of Ibiza, was once a delightful, upmarket seaside village and tourist resort, only around 10 minutes drive from San José and 20km from Ibiza Town.  It has struggled in recent years with a dwindling tourist industry and property investment, although for those looking to buy a property in Cala Vadella, this is good news, as it means prices for both apartments and villas can be fiercely negotiated.

Description

Set in a sheltered cove and surrounded by quaint, brightly coloured houses, the main road into Cala Vadella runs right alongside the beach, giving superb views.  Like many resorts on the western coast of Ibiza, it is surrounded by pine clad hills and offers a beautiful white sandy beach, gently sloping into the warm waters of the Mediterranean.

The bay used to be a favourite spot for boat owners, many of whom still anchor their yachts and boats here all year round.  The beach, although busy in the summer months, is never overcrowded and families enjoy spending each day relaxing on the sand, browsing among the beachside stalls selling gifts or visiting the resort’s selection of restaurants, low key bars and shops.

For those with more energy, the clear waters in the bay are ideal for water sports including diving and snorkelling. 

Property for sale in Cala Vadella

If you are looking for more of a home than an investment opportunity, Cala Vadella could be the resort for you.  Despite its dip in popularity in recent years, new properties are still being constructed and luxurious new villas, built high up on the cliff tops can command prices in excess of €1,500,000, particularly if they have excellent sea views.   However, more reasonably-priced properties in Cala Vadella can still be found and only a little further inland, a three bedroom house can be purchased for just under €500,000.
