Cala Blanca can be found on the west coast of Menorca, around 50km from Mahon.
A modern resort, developed mainly in the 1990s from what was originally a small fishing village, Cala Blanca is set among beautiful pine woods, leading down to two small, gently sloping beaches which are very clean and offer watersport equipment hire.
Towards the centre of town is a pedestrianised area, specifically dedicated to shopping. As well as gift shops and boutiques, there are several small supermarkets stocking basic provisions. Closer towards the beach, along the promenade, you can find a good selection of bars, cafes and restaurants.
Cala Blanca has not yet developed into a huge resort, still retaining a relaxing, laid back character.
Evening entertainment is typical of Menorca, with most activities being hotel-based. Otherwise, both residents and tourists enjoy a good meal and a quiet drink either in one of the friendly local bars or in the comfort of their own villa.
Property for sale in Cala Blanca
Although a popular area, Cala Blanca is essentially a modern development and so lacks any sense of history or tradition. For this reason, and due to the swelling population during the summer months, it is not to everyone’s taste. However, investment in property in such a family-friendly, established tourist region is always a good idea, particularly if property prices are reasonable. A four bedroom villa in Cala Blanca can be bought for around €400,000.
