The resort of Santo Tomas lies within the municipality of es Migjorn Gran, on the south coast of Menorca.

Description

Santo Tomas is a small, purpose built holiday resort, very popular with British families.  Although it seems much larger in summer months, due to the influx of tourists, out of season the resident population numbers less than 60.

The resort itself has a single main street dotted with shops selling the usual tourist items and souvenirs.  There are, however, three supermarkets, so there is no fear of running out of groceries! There are two sandy beaches, protected by sand dunes and a pretty promenade running the full length of the resort, lined with family bars and restaurants.  In addition, Santo Tomas also has several playgrounds, catering for children of all ages.

The surrounding countryside is very beautiful, with both wooded areas and coastal cliff paths.

Very much a family resort, Santo Tomas has little evening entertainment to speak of, most of it being hotel-based.  It is nevertheless a small price to pay for being able to enjoy this relatively, safe, friendly area of Menorca.
