Cala Galdana

Location

Cala Galdana is arguably Menorca’s most popular holiday resort, situated on the south coast of Menorca. It forms part of the Ferreries municipality and is around 35km from Mahon.

Description

Cala Galdana is similar to many Menorcan resorts, being built around a horseshoe bay, surrounded by cliffs populated by fragrant pine trees.  The sands around the bay are clean and gently shelving, making it relatively safe for children to play in the waters.   There is also a watersports equipment hire and a mini golf to keep them amused. The town’s harbour is thought to be one of the smallest in the Mediterranean.  

For the adults, there are relaxing beach bars, shops and a number of restaurants, but nightlife is typically subdued with most entertainment being hotel based.  

Cala Galdana is famed throughout Menorca for its beauty and several areas have been placed under the protection of the Mallorcan government.  It is considered to be the most beautiful resort on the island.
